Fall Mantle Inspiration

Painted Pumpkins with Magnolia Market basket and cotton stems An easy fall decor with things you probably already have around the house. We painted over some orange, wood pumpkins with Annie Sloan chalk paint, added some height with a candlestick and the final touches are the cotton stems and basket with birch logs from Magnolia Market. Happy fall! Angie and Tammi

Party In Pink

Pink And Gold Party Table I love this party table display! We recently celebrated my great-grandaughter's first birthday! My granddaughter displayed these beautiful treats at the princess birthday party. The treats were delicious and included cotton candy flavored cake pops sprinkled with edible gold glitter, blondies, Madeline's drizzled with white chocolate, vanilla cupcakes with buttercream frosting and colorful straws cut and placed in the cupcakes for added decoration. She added an adorable fabric streamer for the Birthday Princess Chair! Add to your memory making days with pretty party decor! Love and peace, Tammi The Princess Birthday Chair

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint- My Old Hope Chest

Annie Sloan's French Linen For a quick new look with an old piece of furniture, try a chalk painting project! I used Annie Sloan's French Linen chalk paint. I applied two coats of paint letting them dry in between coats.  Within a couple of hours the paint was dry then I applied one thin coat of Annie Sloan white wax using the Annie Sloan wax brush.  An hour later, I used an old tshirt to buff it out until it was smooth. I love seeing the detail in the wood with the awesome new color! Love and peace, Tammi

Creamy Lemon Curd

Creamy Lemon Curd - Natural Homemade Living We have been busy making creamy, delicious lemon curd! Our favorite is to add it to plain yogurt or use it in overnight oats with a few blueberries or blackberries mixed in! The best recipe is from Ina Garten, it's easy and turns out every time. Ingredients: 3-4 lemons 1 1/2 c. sugar 4 eggs, room temperature 1/2 c. butter, room temperature 1/2 c. lemon juice pinch of kosher salt Directions Remove the peel of the lemons using a vegetable peeler. Make sure you don't get the white part, it is very bitter. Place the lemon peelings and sugar in a food processor and pulse until the lemon zest is mixed into the sugar. In a separate bowl, cream the butter and add the lemon sugar mixture and beat with an electric mixer. Add the eggs one at a time then add the lemon juice and salt. Mix until combined. Pour the mixture into a medium saucepan and cook over low heat until it thickens. It u...

Greek Yogurt Bundt Cake

Moist Greek Yogurt Bundt Cake We are always looking for a yummy new cake recipe and this cake is awesome! It is moist and tasty and a hit with the taste testers! Ingredients 1/2 c softened butter 3 c sugar 4 eggs 1/2 tsp almond extract 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 1 1/2 c non-fat Greek yogurt, plain 3 c flour 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp baking soda Directions In a large bowl, mix sugar, butter and yogurt together. Add eggs one at a time. Stir in extracts. Add dry ingredients and stir until everything is mixed together but don't over-mix. Pour the batter into a greased bundt pan, smooth the top if needed with a spatula.  Bake in a preheated oven at 325F for 50-60 minutes. I use a toothpick to check the cake, if it comes out clean, your cake is done. Remove the cake from the oven and place the pan on a cooling rack for about 10 minutes, then tip the pan over and place your cake on the cooling rack. Ser...

Delicious Pumpkin Muffins

Fall is here and the yummy spicy flavors are everywhere! Making one of my favorite pumpkin muffin recipes was at the top of my list today. It's easy to make and you probably have most or all of the ingredients on hand. I like this recipe because I replaced the oil with Greek yogurt so it's healthier than my old recipe but still makes great pumpkin muffins! Ingredients: 1 c canned pumpkin 2/3 c Greek yogurt 2/3 c sugar 2/3 c milk 2 eggs 1/2 tsp vanilla 2 c flour 1 Tbsp baking powder 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp nutmeg 1/2 tsp cloves 1/4 tsp ground ginger Directions: Don't use a mixer for this recipe, I would recommend a wooden spoon or spatula. Mix the first 6 ingredients in a bowl and set aside. Next whisk together the dry ingredients (starting with the flour) in another bowl. Add the first mixture to the dry ingredients and mix together until combined. Don'...
